| Getting to Jeffreys bay

Getting to Jeffrey’s Bay is easy. Various options are on offer from main cities. You can choose between a scenic drive to enjoy the natural beauty of the famous Garden Route from Cape Town. Or you can fly from major airports like Johannesburg and Cape Town and arrive in Port Elizabeth in less than 1.5 hours.  Please ensure that you have arranged a shuttle from the school to meet you and transport you to Jeffreys Bay - an hour's drive from Port Elizabeth.  The shuttle cost is US$40.

From Cape Town:

The Intercape and Greyhound  Buses leave from the central train station in Cape Town and both have stops in Jeffreys Bay. Please view www.intercape.co.za and www.greyhound.co.za for current pricing.  Let us know your time and we can meet you.

South African Airways departs from the Cape Town International Airport daily at various times during the day, arriving 1 hour and fifteen minutes later at Port Elizabeth international Airport.  See their schedules on www.flysaa.co.za.

The Baz Bus is specifically designed for foreign travellers and operates a daily conveyance between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. This bus picks up at any backpacker establishment and will drop off at Island Vibe Lodge. Even if your accommodation in Jbay is other than Island Vibe, this is the best stop off point.   www.bazbus.co.za

From Johannesburg:

The Greyhound bus operates between Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth leaving at 17h45 and arriving at 09h30 the following day.  Students can wait in Port Elizabeth for a connection leaving at 21h45 and arriving at 22h45 in Jeffrey’s Bay.  Alternatively taxis or the school shuttle can be arranged.

The Baz Bus leaves Johannesburg three times a week, with a stop over in Durban and in Port Elizabeth before reaching Jeffrey's Bay.

Trains run between Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth, leaving at 13h00 and arriving the following day at 09h15. This is probably the cheapest form of transport betwee these two cities. 

South African Airways flies to Port Elizabeth International Airport at regular intervals during the day arriving 2 hours later. Shuttles from the airport to Jeffreys Bay can be arranged through the School.

From Durban:

Greyhound buses leave Durban for Jeffreys Bay at 07h00 and arrive at 22h45, changing in Port Elizabeth en route.  South African Airways leaves Durban International Airport at various time arriving in Port Elizabeth 1 hour 20 minutes later. 

The Baz Bus leaves Durban five days a week (excluding Tuesday and Friday) and stops over in Port Elizabeth before leaving for Jeffreys Bay the following morning. 

From Port Elizabeth:

Intercape bus liner leaves Port Elizabeth at 06h15 and 18h30 arriving 1 hour later in Jeffrey's Bay.

The Baz Bus leaves at 07h00 from any backpacker establishment and arrives at Island Vibe Lodge at 08h30. 

Shuttles can be arranged through the School to collect from the Airport and train station. Please be sure to confirm these shuttle times and dates with the school beforehand.
