General English (20 lessons)

This is our popular course for learners who want to spend more time experiencing all the activities and sights Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa has to offer. It focuses on the 4 skills of speaking, writing, listening and reading with grammar development. It is comprised of 2 lessons of set course-work and 2 lessons of skills practice everyday. Levels range from Beginner to Advanced.

General English Focus (30 lessons)

This intensive course consists of 4 lessons of General English every day in the morning with 2 lessons of further skills development in the afternoon. The main focus is using the language in everyday contexts. Some Business English elements are also incorporated to ensure learners have a holistic learning experience. Levels range from Beginner to Advanced.

International Business English (20/30 lessons)

The ability to communicate effectively in Business English is a basic requirement for many corporate and public sector employees. We can help you to increase your ability to communicate effectively in Business English with professional courses designed to meet your individual needs and requirements. The lessons include Business English presentations, negotiations, writing, telephone conversations, and vocabulary . Levels range from Upper-Intermediate to Advanced.

Examination Preparation Courses (30 lessons)

The following courses are offered: Cambridge First Certificate (FCE) and Cambridge Advanced (CAE)

There are two possible exam sittings a student can take. Provisional exam dates for 2009 are as follows.

FCE: written and listening 13 June 2009 or 12 December 2009

oral between 25 May and 28 june 2009 and between 20 November and 20 December 2009

CAE: written and listening 17 June 2009 or 9 December 2009

oral between 25 May and 28 June 2009 and between 20 November and 20 December 2009.

All exams are written in Cape Town. Jbay Language School can assist with applications, transport and accommodation arrangements. Orals can be scheduled to the date nearest the written and listening exams.

These courses are offered subject to availability. Students are required to be at the level indicated in order to be accepted on the course.

Private English

Individual lessons tailored to meet the requirements of the learner. This course is suggested for Beginner students but is suitable for all levels. There is a minimum booking of 20 lessons per week. If private lessons are booked with another course there is a minimum of 5 lessons per week.
